Rules for the Worldcup 2026 Result Prediction game
Players earn points by making predictions on the results of the World Cup 2026.
You can make
- predictions for the individual matches. Predictions can be made and modified until one minute before the scheduled start of the game.
- predictions for the proceeding teams in the knock-out stage. Predictions can be made and modified until one minute before the scheduled start of the game.
- predictions for the overall World Cup winner, finalist, semi finalists, quarter finalists and participants in the round of 16 and in the round of 32. Predictions can be made and modified until one minute before the scheduled start of the first game in the group stage.
Scoring
Games in group stage (predicted until one minute before the start of the game)
Points
- 2 points for a correct result (team 1 win / team 2 win / draw)
- 1 extra point for the correct goal difference
- 1 extra point for the exact goal score
- 1 extra point for the correct result (team 1 win / team 2 win / draw) if less than 20% of the players predict the result
Examples
- You predict 3:1, game ends 1:0, you get 2 points
- You predict 3:1, game ends 2:0, you get 3 points
- You predict 3:1, game ends 3:1, you get 4 points
- You predict 3:1, game ends 3:1, 16 of 100 players predict team 1 win, you get 5 points
Notes
- a maximum of 5 points is awarded for each game in the group stage
- a predicted draw is always 3 points at least
Games in knock-out stage (predicted until one minute before the start of the game)
Points
- 2 points for a correct result (team 1 win / team 2 win / draw) after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 1 extra point for the correct goal difference after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 1 extra point for the exact goal score after regular play time (90 minutes)
- 2 extra points for the proceeding team (possibly after extra time and penalty shootout)
- 4 extra points for the winning team in the final (possibly after extra time and penalty shootout)
- 1 extra point for the correct result (team 1 win / team 2 win / draw) after regular play time (90 minutes) if less than 20% of the players predict the result
Examples
- You predict Brazil - France 1:2 and France proceeding in the quarter final,
- game ends 0:2 after 90 minutes, you get 4 points,
- game ends 1:2 after 90 minutes, you get 6 points,
- game ends 1:1 after 90 minutes, France proceeds, you get 2 points
Notes
- a maximum of 7 points is awarded for the games in the knock-out stage, 9 points in the final
Overall Result (winner, finalist, semi finalist, quarter finalist, participants in the round of 16 and in the round of 32, predicted until one minute before the first game of the group stage starts)
Points
- 2 points for each team proceeding to the knock-out stage (round of 32)
- 2 extra points for each team proceeding to the round of 16
- 4 extra points for each quarter finalist
- 4 extra points for each semi finalist
- 2 extra points for the winner of the play-off for third place
- 4 extra points for each finalist
- 8 extra points for the winner
Examples
- You predict Brazil winner, Spain finalist, England and Argentina semi finalist, result is Brazil winner, Argentina finalist, Spain and Germany semi finalist, you get 48 points: 24 points for Brazil as predicted winner, 12 points each for Spain and Argentina as predicted semi finalists
Notes
- a maximum of 162 points is awarded for the overall predictions
Tie break
If two players have the same number of points, the following criteria are used for ranking:
- the number of exact goal scores predicted
- the number of correct results predicted
- extra points earned for predicting winning underdogs in matches
- points earned for the overall prediction
- points earned for matches in the knock-out stage
- points earned for matches in the group stage
Additional rules
- Predictions of the individual players become visible to other players only after the deadline for the prediction.
- The highest percentage of the result predictions (team 1 win / team 2 win / draw) among all players is shown as well as the total number of players who have predicted.
- No points are awarded if no prediction is made in time. No exceptions are made if your internet connection or our web server is down.
- Only one account per person is allowed.
